Book Week 2018
Monday 12th - Thursday 15th March
On Monday, Giles Abbott a regular storyteller at the school delighted Year 7 with scary myths and legends from around the world.
On Tuesday author Faye Bird talked to Year 9 about her books and the process of creative writing. There was an opportunity after the talk to buy one of her books and have it dedicated and signed by Faye.
On Wednesday Wendy Shearer, delighted Year 8 students with her African folk tales and trickster stories.
The Scholastic Book Fair on Thursday encouraged girls from Years 7, 8 and 9 to buy books to read. The school earned over £681 in commission through book sales. This money will be spent on books for the students to enjoy in the Study Centre. The week was a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by all. I must say a big thank you to all the girls who took part for their exemplary behaviour. All the visitors remarked on this and the enthusiasm of the girls.
