Sturry Trip

Wednesday 18th June

The Form Chaplains and a number of Staff visited Sturry, the Mother House and tomb of Euphrasie Barbier, the Foundress of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions and our school. We were welcomed by Sister Rosemary and given a tour of the Convent and a history of Mother Euphrasie’s time in Sturry, Kent which included the Museum.  There were a number of Sisters from all over the world visiting the Mother House and we were fortunate to hear how they were continuing her mission to support those in most need, particularly women and children all over the world. Finally, We met in the Chapel where Mother Euphrasie is buried, for a Liturgy remembering our whole community in our prayers. We finished with our school Hymn which was composed by one of the Sisters; ‘We are called by Christ.’ We left with confidence to ‘Go and take His light to those who live in darkness’ because we are the flames to bring Hope.

When I went to Sturry, I learnt the caring ways of the nuns which brought attention to how I should fulfil my duty as a steward. Fiona

We have been working hard in our ‘commitment to His service’.
