VOCATION TALKS WITH THE RELIGIOUS LIFE

Year 9s have had the opportunity to meet either in person or online a range of religious life learning about what discipleship and vocation means to them; along with what is life as a nun or priest as well as a Q&A.
Fr Alan who is currently in South Sudan talked about his life as a priest and what he does day to day.

Sister Cathy Jones from the Sisters of the Assumption Talked about life in an apostolic order and what it means to live a life of poverty and their role as teachers.

Students were able to learn what it means to live with the poorest of the poor and how life as nun changed their lives as they are given the opportunity to show and spread God’s love. Students were also given miraculous medals.


Dominican order- Sister Karen Marguerite d'Artois OP from Rosary Priory in Bushey
Students were able to engaged with her and she spoke about the realities of being a religious nun in the modern world and the difficulties for living a religious life.
‘We were privileged to be visited by a nun from the Dominican order who talked about what it takes to be a saint and becoming a nun and her daily routine. She was really interesting as she also spoke to the class about life before she was a nun.’
