COMPUTING CLUB AND CYBER EXPLORERS
March 2026

Computing Club and Cyber Explorers
This term, pupils across all year groups have been diving into exciting and innovative Computing projects!
From coding challenges to creative digital media tasks, pupils have been gaining valuable skills that prepare them for the digital world, such as Microsoft Excel during our Year 7 lessons. Our Key Stage 3 classes have been learning the fundamentals of programming using Scratch and HTML, developing strong problem-solving abilities. Meanwhile, GCSE Key Stage 4 Computing pupils have been exploring computer systems and impacts of technology on our everyday lives—building both confidence and curiosity in how technology works behind the scenes together with a Cyber Security task for National Career’s Week during 2nd March - 6th March 2026.
.
A particular highlight this term was to see our Year 10 pupils regularly attending an after-school interventions to improve their knowledge.
We are incredibly proud of our learners’ creativity and dedication. The Computing Department looks forward to showcasing even more innovative student projects in the coming months!
Coding Club
Our after‑school Coding Club has been thriving this term, welcoming pupils of all abilities who are eager to expand their programming skills. Learners have been exploring a variety of languages including Scratch, Python and HTML/CSS, while also taking part in fun challenges such as Cyber Explorers puzzle-solving. At time of writing, we now have 130 pupils at Sacred Heart who are signed-up and can accept the various challenges and missions at their leisure to enhance their computing knowledge.
The club provides a relaxed and supportive environment where pupils can work independently or collaborate on group projects. Some of our members are currently developing small interactive websites that they hope to showcase later in the year.
We encourage any pupil with an interest in coding—beginner or advanced—to come along, try something new, and become part of our growing community of young developers!
“Where ideas compile.”
