Computing Cyber Explorers

From deepfakes to automated scams, cyber criminals are getting smarter with AI, with pupils encountering these threats earlier than ever.
Our Computing department was invited to join with pupils nationwide to become Cyber Explorers. This is an initiative led by the UK Government, is a free online cyber security learning programme for pupils aged 11-14. Currently we have 102 pupils at Sacred Heart who can accept the various challenges and missions. If by chance you missed the email inviting you to join, here is our tailor-made Sacred Heart pupil self-registration link again https://www.cyberexplorers.co.uk/register/5B528513-F Please register using your school email address.

Last and now this half term, our Coding Club pupils have been taking part in exciting online challenges and missions provided by CyberExplorers.co.uk. The programme has been especially engaging for our Key Stage 3 pupils, who have been developing their digital skills through hands-on cybersecurity scenarios and problem-solving activities.
Working individually and sometimes assisting each other in small teams, pupils exploring real-world cyber themes such as online safety, password security, ethical hacking, and how digital systems are protected. The interactive missions encouraged logical thinking, resilience, and teamwork, while also reinforcing responsible and ethical use of technology.
Throughout the sessions, pupils demonstrated excellent enthusiasm and curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and applying their coding knowledge to overcome each challenge. Many pupils commented on how rewarding it felt to complete missions and earn recognition for their progress.
Coding Club and our Computing Department will continue to offer opportunities such as Cyber Explorers to support pupils’ interest in computing and to help them learn more about potential future pathways in digital and cyber careers. We are extremely pleased with the commitment and effort shown by all pupils involved.
Coding club takes place after school on Wednesdays in room N25 until 4pm – come along and bring a friend – House Points are available.
Remember Coding is a Superpower.
