ELIZABETH HOUSE CHARITY WEEK

Week commencing 8th December 2025
Elizabeth House Charity Week – A Celebration of Giving and Creativity
Elizabeth House embraced the festive season with its annual Charity Week, a tradition that combines fun, creativity, and generosity to support the Catholic Children's Society. The Catholic Children’s Society (CCS) is a charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families. They provide practical help, emotional support, and counselling services to those facing poverty, homelessness, or difficult life circumstances. Their work focuses on improving children’s well-being, strengthening family life, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
The week featured a variety of engaging activities designed to bring the community together and spread holiday cheer.
Highlights of the Week:
- Monday 8th: The festivities began with the Christmas Hampers Competition, showcasing beautifully crafted hampers, and a spirited Christmas Karaoke session that filled the air with music and laughter.
- Tuesday 9th: Christmas Socks Day added a playful twist to the week, while the Bake Sale led by 10E delighted everyone with homemade treats.
- Thursday 11th: The standout event of the week was undoubtedly the Gingerbread Decorating Session, led by the talented students of 8E. With limited spaces available, this activity offered participants the chance to express their creativity by designing intricate gingerbread masterpieces. The atmosphere was warm and collaborative, making it a memorable experience for all involved.
- Friday 12th: This event was led by Mrs. Starling and 9E. Students could write thoughtful messages and send a candy cane to a friend. This simple yet heartfelt gesture spread kindness and positivity across the House, reminding everyone of the true meaning of the season.
One student who attended shared their excitement:
“It was such a fun way to get into the Christmas spirit! Everyone’s designs were so different, and it was great to work together and see how creative we could be.”
Elizabeth House extends heartfelt thanks to all students and staff who participated and contributed to the success of Charity Week. Your enthusiasm and generosity truly embody the spirit of the season.
