YEAR 10 FOOD PREPARATION AND NUTRITION TRIP TO SPITALFIELDS

Wednesday 7th May
The girls had an amazing day experiencing foods from a variety of cuisines. First stop was Sri Lankan with Kothu Roti freshly made right in front of them. Next, Bangladeshi pastries and sweets and Chocolate truffles made with Cacao from Ghana where the owner used the wood from the trees to make her display units. They also eat Bagels from the oldest family run Beigel shop in Brick Lane, where they tried their world-famous melt-in your-mouth salt beef beigels. They also met the ‘Broccoli Man’ Adrian Boswell at his Gallery. He worked as a chef at the Savoy in London with Gordon Ramsey for many years and can make Broccoli in 176 different ways which gave them something to think about. He is no longer a chef but an artist who has used broccoli in his artwork to create fun pieces and a clothing brand. They girls were so full at the end of the trip that some even said they were not going to eat their dinner in the evening.
