The Whitechapel History trip was an exhilarating experience.  Whitechapel is a multicultural, lively society and known for the famous Brick Lane. Moreover, it is also infamous for the location where the 19^th Century murders committed by Jack the Ripper took place. On the 12^th November, Year 10 History students were fortunate enough to explore the great depths of British history, in this case Jack the Ripper and late Victorian Whitechapel.  As soon as we got to Whitechapel, we immediately sensed a diverse community, and I could see the different cultures. As a class we then walked to Bucks Row, where Jack the Ripper’s first murder took place – that of Polly Anne Nichols. We then took a long historical tour of Whitechapel.  Whilst on the tour, we got to see the accommodation of the 19^th Century poor and understand the rift between different religions in Whitechapel. Additionally, we went to visit all the places where Jack the Ripper’s killings took place and did analytical thinking about what each murder have in common. We also had a moment when we looked at Christ Church.

After the informative but exciting tour, we then took a train to Westminster. In Westminster we found a place to perch and eat lunch. Last of all we went to London Dungeons. The London Dungeons was a thrilling experience where some of the funniest memories were made. Many of us were clinging to each other out of fear due to jump scares. The fun rides added on to the exhilarating experience. Apart from the excitement it was also a very informative experience. Using actors, they told the stories of important events such as the 1605 Gunpowder Plot and the daunting history of crime and punishment.  Overall, this trip has been a memorable experience and I would recommend it to everyone.
