On Tuesday 13^th October Science Club hosted our very own Egg Drop Challenge. Students planned, designed and constructed their own devices modelled to protect an egg from cracking when falling from a set height. Tharanshy in 7T came in 2^nd place with her amazing, cushioned cube protective container; she used card, paper, cotton wool, glue and tissue paper to ensure multiple layers absorbed the shock when her passenger egg, Eggvis Presley, hit the ground. Eggvis Presley survived the fall, however there was a minor crack.

Kamila in 7H came 1^st place with her uniquely creative parachute and cradle, with legs; the legs create more distance between the ground and the passenger egg; Eggspector Goole. Her large parachute increases air resistance to promote a softer landing. This, in combination with her padded cradle earned her top spot as Eggspector Goole landed unharmed.
