GLOBE THEATRE TRIP
Friday 27th February 2026
On Friday 27th February, 20 students from Year 8 went to the Globe Theatre to watch a modernised version of Romeo and Juliet. It was a truly wonderful experience seeing how they adapted the play into our modern surroundings, showcasing amazing bike tricks as well as modern knife crime. The view and atmosphere was breathtaking and it was so nice to experience it. The play was enjoyed by everyone who watched it and we hope to be able to go there again soon. Thank you to Ms Henderson in particular for organising this wonderful trip as well as to Ms Walsh and Ms DiLullo for taking care of us all! We really appreciate it!

On the 27th of February, 20 Year 8 students went on a late-night trip to Shakespeare’s Globe. We selected students with excellent attendance and progress in English. Ms Walsh, Ms DiLullo and I were very impressed with their enthusiasm, etiquette and engagement; they did the school proud! We all loved the buzzing atmosphere of late-night London, seeing a glimpse of The Golden Hinde, the ruins of Winchester Palace, Saint Paul’s Cathedral peeking out across the Thames and, of course, the beautiful reconstruction of Shakespeare’s historic Globe Theatre. The play, Romeo and Juliet, might be the best adaptation of Shakespeare’s works that we teachers have seen – and we have seen quite a few! We will keep our ears open to hear about upcoming productions and plan more trips in the future. Thank you to Ms Walsh, Ms DiLullo and all the students who made this fantastic trip possible.
