Pi day

Friday 13th March
Pi Day, celebrated every year on March 14th, honours the mathematical constant π (pi), which represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Across the world, students and teachers celebrate this day with activities that combine mathematics and creativity. This year, our school joined the celebrations with a lively and successful bake sale organised by the Year 10 students.
The bake sale included a variety of treats such as cakes, cupcakes, brownies, and cookies. Students from different year groups visited the stalls throughout the day to buy something sweet and enjoy the event. The stalls were busy and many students and teachers came along to support the sale, creating a lively atmosphere during the celebration.
Overall, the bake sale was a success, and we raised £224.90 for our house charities, a fun way for the school community to take part in Pi Day. It gave students the chance to enjoy a small celebration together while recognising an important mathematical concept.
