SUMMER CONCERT 2025

Thursday 10th July
In the penultimate week of the summer term, the music department held their annual summer concert based on the theme of celebrating Internationalism and the diverse cultures in our community. The evening’s entertainment included wonderfully diverse styles of music in the form of the choirs, the orchestra, Indonesian Gamelan, Irish music group, Samba group and the year 10/11 bands. The concert began with an uplifting orchestral performance of “Hey Jude”, with the year 10 GCSE students performing a Gamelan piece and concert choir with “What a Wonderful World”. After the African Drumming the Orchestra played a popular Cantonese piece then the Irish Music Group had the audience tapping their feet again with a rendition of “Cloths of Heaven” & “Kitty Gone A Milking”. The concert choir then gave an emotional performance of “All of Me” before the first of the year 10 bands performing “Creep” by Radiohead. This was followed by the Orchestra playing a Polish arrangement of a pop song called “Melodia”. To conclude the evening the samba group and the other year 10 played before the choir and orchestra “Imagine” to rapturous applause.
An enormous thanks to the staff who helped make this event possible and congratulations to all of our incredibly talented and dedicated students for their hard work, truly making the evening a great success.
