YEAR 7 HAMPTON COURT TRIP

Wednesday 14th May

On Wednesday we had an exciting trip to Hampton Court Palace where we learnt amazing facts about the Tudors and William III.  For example, Henry VIII had to feed 600 guests twice a day at Hampton Court – so the kitchens were very big and very busy.  William III had one-third of the Tudor palace pulled down and re-built in the Baroque style, which was very fashionable at that time.  Also, because he had asthma, he built a grand staircase with very shallow stairs.

The thing I enjoyed most was seeing lots of Tudor Roses and also sitting in the beautiful gardens where we had a picnic lunch with our friends.  We were really lucky as the weather was very sunny.

I would give the trip 5/5 and if you have never been to Hampton Court, I recommend that you go and visit.
