Pupil Admission Guidance
Applications for Year 7
Each September the school has two open evenings when prospective parents and pupils have the opportunity to visit the school, see the classrooms, speak to teachers and current students and listen to an address by the Headteacher.
To make an application to The Sacred Heart Language College there are two sets of forms to be completed:
The Common Transfer Form; this can be obtained from the Local Education Department at your Borough’s Civic Centre or Town Hall. On completion the form is to be returned to the LEA.
The school’s Supplementary Information Form; consists of Forms A and B, complete both sections and obtain a reference from your Parish Priest. Return the forms, together with a copy of your daughter’s Baptism Certificate to the school.
The governing body has sole responsibility for admission to the school. There are usually more applications for places than the total of 150 places available and so places are offered in the following order of priority:
|Criterion 1||Catholic "looked-after" girls and Catholic girls who have been adopted(or made subjects to resident orders or special guardianship orders) immediately following having been looked after|
|Criterion 2||Catholic girls from practising Catholic families|
|Criterion 3||Catholic girls from non-practising Catholic families|
|Criterion 4||Other "looked-after" girls and girls who have been adopted (or made subjects to resident orders or special guardianship orders) immediately following having been looked after|
|Criterion 5||Christian girls from committed Christian families whose parents wish them to have a Catholic education and whose application is supported by a Minister of religion|
|Criterion 6||Girls from other faiths whose parents wish them to be educated according to the religious beliefs and philosophy of the Catholic Church|
|Criterion 7||Girls whose parents wish them to be educated according to the religious beliefs and philosophy of the Catholic Church|
|Criterion 8||Any other girl|
