GCSE & BTEC Courses - Years 10-11
In Years 10 & 11 the curriculum is markedly different to years 7-9, with some elements of choice afforded to students.
Our curriculum for years 10 & 11 has a core component (70% of curriculum time) which all students follow comprising:
- English Language and Literature (GCSE)
- Mathematics (GCSE)
- Science (GCSE)
- RE (GCSE)
- Modern Language - French or Spanish (GCSE)
- PE (non-exam)
- Citizenship (non-exam)
- Work-related Learning (non-exam)
There are also option subjects available (30% of curriculum time) which are chosen from the list below:

- Classical Civilization (GCSE)
- Computer Science
- Design and Technology (GCSE)
- Drama (GCSE)
- Food Preparation & Nutrition (GCSE)
- Geography (GCSE)

The school gives a lot of guidance to students about choosing subjects for year 10 classes including providing a curriculum brochure and running a Curriculum Evening and a Parents' Evening.
