In Years 10 & 11 the curriculum is markedly different to years 7-9, with some elements of choice afforded to students.

Our curriculum for years 10 & 11 has a core component (70% of curriculum time) which all students follow comprising:

  • Science (GCSE)
  • RE (GCSE)
  • Modern Language - French or Spanish (GCSE)
  • PE (non-exam)
  • Citizenship (non-exam)
  • Work-related Learning (non-exam)

There are also option subjects available (30% of curriculum time) which are chosen from the list below:

  • Art and Design (GCSE)
  • Classical Civilization (GCSE)
  • Computer Science
  • Design and Technology (GCSE)
  • Drama (GCSE)
  • Food Preparation & Nutrition (GCSE)
  • Geography (GCSE)
  • History (GCSE)
  • Music (GCSE)
  • PE (GCSE)
  • Health & Social Care (BTEC)
  • Separate Science (GCSE)
  • Religious Education (AS Level)

The school gives a lot of guidance to students about choosing subjects for year 10 classes including providing a curriculum brochure and running a Curriculum Evening and a Parents' Evening.
