The Sacred Heart Language College

CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE 2019

Thursday 19th December

Christmas at The Sacred Heart Language College was welcomed with the annual Christmas Carol Service on the penultimate day of the autumn term. ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ was sung by the congregation after a beautiful solo performance of the first verse from Hasmik Sarkissian (7H). Following this was the Gospel Choir with the reflective ‘O Holy Night’. Year 7 pupils sang beautifully John Rutters’ ‘Candlelight Carol’ and a modern version of ‘Away in the Manger’ followed by The Concert Choir with ‘The Christmas Star’ and a beautifully harmonised version of 'Ding Dong Merrily on High’.

As ever, the Irish Music Group, RnB Band and Orchestra had everyone’s toes tapping in festive celebration before the evening concluded with all of the performers and congregation singing ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’.

It was wonderful to see a record number of pupils performing in the service this year supported by friends and family.
